Become a member of the Friends of Washington Oaks State Gardens, Inc. and share in the special opportunity to be a part of an organization whose focus is 410 coastal acres stretching from the Matanzas River to the Atlantic Ocean.

The Friends of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, Inc. is a community based not for profit Citizens Support Organization (CSO). Washington Oaks State Gardens park like all Florida State Parks, has programs and physical needs that go beyond the State's ability to provide funding.

CSO's are designed to provide volunteers to assist the Park Manager with work projects, to service as guides, and to promote and develop special events, as well as educational opportunities.

A CSO can also raise funds: seek and receive grants; accept gifts and bequest of money, tangible property and real property, to benefit its park. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit the Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, Inc.  SC#11119.

Goals of the Friends

1. To support the Park through volunteer assistance and community outreach.

2. To sponsor special events at the Park

3. To assist with funding for renovations and construction of the Park's support facilities

4. To develop a series of educational programs for the Park

5. Top promote the Park and its activities through public relations and publicity

6. To assist with the upkeep of the formal gardens.

Membership benefits include...

1. Twelve visits annually without charge.

2. Receive bi-monthly publications of the "Friends".

3. Participate in the promotion, preservation and enhancement of Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.

4. invitation to attend "Friends" special events and social functions.

5. Partnership in Scenic A1A Endeavor to establish native plants along the roadway.
