VETERAN'S DAY

November 11    FREE ENTRY All Day

Washington Oaks Gardens

and Faver-Dykes State Parks

As you enter Washington Oaks Gardens you enter an amazing place to relax and enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature.  Whether you wander the pathways and reflect on what this day means or you spend your time enjoying your favorite activity of

hiking and biking on our trails, welcome. Collecting shells and enjoying

the vision of the coquina rock formations on the beach side of the park would complete your visit.

Faver-Dykes offers you 'Old Florida' to enjoy by way of hiking trails through the history of bygone days of Florida. Exploring or kayaking on Pellicer Creek, the closest estuary and the home of a unique sediment called 'Pellicer Mud', is another not so well known area of the park to enjoy.

Third Saturday Photo Challenge

November 21st    ALL DAY
Washington Oaks Gardens

Within the heart of Washington Oaks, twenty acres of formal gardens are sculpted from the landscape to create an amazing place to relax and enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature. As these towering live oaks, hickory and magnolia trees offer their welcome shade, the ponds and wandering pathways provide opportunities for reflection and a chance to capture that inner peace and sense of purpose needed to balance the details and commitments of our daily lives. Use your camera to record Mother Earth's grandeur and offerings within the Park.

Participants will receive a map of the Gardens and the Challenge instructions on the day of the event.  The map and instructions will be at the Ranger Station until the park closes.

Upon submission photos will be entered into a "Photo of the Month" contest.
